Zen Adult Colouring Books

The passion for Colouring books for us grown ups is HUGE.  People have fallen in love with colouring.  It's amazing, as so many people are trying their hand at art without feeling pressured, or feeling like they can not do it.  They're just giving it a go, and reaping the benefit of the wonderful effects crafting gives us. The calm of creating, and pride of completing something beautiful.

Now, a lot of us crafters have been trying to tell people how good colouring in was for years!! Lets hope lots of people who thought they couldn't craft, will now start to find the wealth of crafty goodness available to them.

If you have been crafting for years, however, have you also been tempted by the colouring in books?  Have you, like me, looked at them, and loved the designs, but thought "What else can I do with these". I decided to have a play, and will do 3 posts with different finishes, from just one sheet from the stunning Botanical Pad.  If you would like this pad, follow this link:

The first one I completed has been coloured with beautiful gel pens:

These gel pens are such good quality, they are really juicy, which allows you to blend the colours.  I love the sparkle as well.  If you would like to have a go with these pens, there are different colour options, which you will find here: Sakura gel pens

Choose your first colour, and apply the ink.  Do one petal at a time, as the ink is easier to blend when it is wet.  I used the yellow to blend, and this changes the colour.  The colours are rich, and dry with a wonderful sheen:

I finished my image with just a few dots from my gel pens.

Lotte will be bringing you lots of demonstrations throughout her shows on how you can use all of these beautiful papers to create a Scandi Christmas this year. Here's just one of the projects Lotte will be showing this week...  Step 1. Half two 2.5cm wide paper star strips. Now only use three of the four paper star strips. Step 2. Double over each of the three paper star strips and cut all the ends at an angle. Put a star strip around another star strip and fold it tightly three times around this star strip. This is illustrated in the picture. Repeat this process with the other two star strips. Step 3. Assemble the three paper star strips over and under each other, forming three double le
