Wire beads and more

We had better start the post by saying well done to Pen, who has won a bit bag of die cut bows to play with - and then Patricia who has won the lovely canvas which was made by Katie.  Those will be winging their way to you.

Here at Hochanda, we are trying to bring you diversity, both in products, but also for peoples skill set.  A kit that we can highly recommend for beginners is brought to us by the Crazy Wire Company.  They have put a nice little kit together for us to create a Wire Bead bracelet.  When you first see this, you may think it looks quite tricky - you could not be more wrong.

I had a play with it this afternoon, and within minutes I had the knack - and then started experimenting, adding my own beads to see what it looked like.  I'm quite happy with the results:

Wire and Beads

You can see from this photograph, I used a pretty shambhala bead in the centre of this pretty blue wire

And in the centre of the lilac ribbon, I had an iridescent sparkly bead

And here I threaded on some little seed beads.

I really enjoyed working with this kit.  Do look out for the Crazy Wire Company joining you on your TV screens.

Obviously the craft world is being dominated with the CHA show, currently in full swing in the USA.  We have Jamie and Paul out there, looking for the new trends that we can expect to hit our shores in 2016.

There are a lot of familiar crafty faces out there, including the lovely Sarah Hurley....good luck Sarah, we hope you have a great CHA :)

Lotte will be bringing you lots of demonstrations throughout her shows on how you can use all of these beautiful papers to create a Scandi Christmas this year. Here's just one of the projects Lotte will be showing this week...  Step 1. Half two 2.5cm wide paper star strips. Now only use three of the four paper star strips. Step 2. Double over each of the three paper star strips and cut all the ends at an angle. Put a star strip around another star strip and fold it tightly three times around this star strip. This is illustrated in the picture. Repeat this process with the other two star strips. Step 3. Assemble the three paper star strips over and under each other, forming three double le
