The TV Debut of Parveen, The Spice Queen's New Cookbook

In time for this year’s Christmas must haves we introduce Parveen the Spice Queen, Bradford’s answer to Nigella Lawson.

Parveen is an Asian housewife proud of her culture and cooking and in this, her first cookbook she brings together the flavours of India with a huge dollop of Yorkshire common sense. Parveen is passionate about her culture as well as her cuisine, as a wife and mum of three, she is a keen advocate of Indian home cooking and a dedicated cookery teacher. After leaving the corporate world a decade ago, Parveen began demonstrating and teaching cooking around the UK and Europe. She is a firm believer that with the right method and the right spices, anyone can create the most delicious authentic food.

For almost a decade Parveen has taught Indian cooking, ran cookery demonstrations and catered glamorous Bollywood Dinner Parties. She brings all of this experience to life in her step by step cookbook. The book includes every English favourite including Chicken Masala, Lamb Bhuna and Samosas and so many more mouth watering recipes!

But what makes Parveen’s book stand out is her innovative Spice Bags. These little bags of pre-mixed spices are designed to work hand in had with her recipes, taking the fear and uncertainty out of Indian cooking.

Parveen recognised that there had been a shift away from traditional cooking and that more and more people were relying on ready meals and jars to fit in with a busy lifestyle.  Even in Indian families the art of cooking was being lost and this struck a chord.

“Having been asked to teach the daughter of a family friend how to cook simple Indian meals in preparation of getting married, I realised that so many young people today did not know their way around a kitchen and appeared scared to even give it a try.  Hopefully the combination of my book and the spice bags will give even the beginner the confidence to try.”

From the comfort of your own kitchen you can produce restaurant quality Indian Cuisine that will leave your friends and family wondering how you did it. With this modern kitchen cookbook, Parveen demystifies the art of Indian cooking with simple step by step instructions, top tips on how to get the best from her recipes and beautiful clear images. Every recipe has a light hearted and personal anecdote, giving an insight into Parveen's family life and Asian culture... But, the real beauty of her recipes is that they really work.

If you love Indian food and have always wanted to learn how to cook it then this is the perfect book for you! Don't miss the launch of Parveen, The Spice Queen's brand new book on Saturday 10th December at 8am & 11am!
